Jon Sanders and Cat Tunks play Cafe Eutopia, one night only before Jon returns to Ireland. Summer concerts so far this year have been well supported and very much enjoyed. Jon has toured the country a lot this summer and has played with Cat in Titirangi and Waitangi. Cat was recently support act for Hollie Smith in Auckland. Local band The Diggers will be support act. Cafe is open for platters and drinks.

Peter has started work on the courtyard again, he is presently working on finishing the green and red domes. Yeah! Maybe by this summer we will have the little dreamspace shop

Karen Harris is the happy and brave- considering this winters weather!- new owner of Cafe Eutopia. She has introduced a new weekend brunch menu which visitors are enjoying. She has added beautiful new wooden tables in the tent and is keen to welcome all who visit.

Pre Summer Action Plan

Sita is making beautiful bracelets and earrings and Xanthe, after an inspiring year in Whangarei at Northland Polytechnic wants to sell her range of summer clothes so Peter has promised to finish the green dome for them so that they will have a studio/shop to sell their work. Yeah Peter!! Hopefully we'll have a camera soon and will be able to post project reports!
fresh bread saturdays

If you want a good sourdough bread you can buy it here on a Saturday morning. We use Pandoro Organic Breads at the cafe and now have a small range of them available - Ciabatta, Sourdough loves and baguettes and can order for you. Drop in have a great coffee and take home your weeks bread!
Barista needed soon

Great news! Laura is staying in Kaiwaka. And Sita is hoping she will also be able to stay. Its such a great place to live! And Eutopia is a great place to work! But we will still need more help over the summer to make sure our visitors are served wonderful coffees and healthy food with love from happy rested staff!
So we will need another experienced barista and help in the kitchen so that we can be open summer hours, and all of us still have a fun summer at the beach! Email raewyn if you have the experience and would love a Northland summer!

Summer work in Northland?

Laura is leaving Kaiwaka in October so we will also need a cook. We would love to have someone join us who is happy to get up really early and bake bread over the summer.

Salsa Summer Concert

February 27th:
Irish duo Mark and John on guitar and fiddle played an eclectic mix of traditional Irish and Gypsy music to an enraptured audience. Guests Maurice and Catherine Reviole joined in for an impromptu session of improv. These world-class musicians were enthusiastically applauded and thanked for choosing Café Eutopia as one of their venues. We hope to have many more such concerts in the future!
Kaiwaka Hailstorm
