Health Benefits of Coffee

Besides providing the necessary energy boost, coffee helps in preventing diabetes and lowers the risk of certain diseases such as liver disease. Thought that is quite amazing all by itself, coffee has many more benefits and luckily, is considered one of the most consumed beverages in the world.

Coffee for a decreased risk of diabetes

According to science and research, coffee helps protect the body from developing type 2 diabetes. First of all, caffeine increases the plasma levels of a protein hormone called globulin (SHBG). This hormone is in control of the activity of testosterone and oestrogen. Now, as both play a role in developing type 2 diabetes, it balances it out so that our bodies can function harmoniously.

With many conducted research over the years, it has been proven that coffee reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes by 11% over a period of 4-years. This is only by consuming 1.6 cups a day. Paired with adjusting your diet and integrating an active lifestyle, one could potentially heal the illness completely, or at least reduce it immensely.

The effect of coffee on Parkinson’s disease

With the results of more conducted research, there has been a link between Parkinson’s disease risk and coffee consumption. Apparently, a higher caffeine intake corresponds with a lower risk of Parkinson’s disease. Coffee protects your heart against heart failure. Drinking about two cups a day could lower your risk of heart failure by a total of 11%. Be sure to consume it moderately and no more than 2-3 cups a day as too much coffee can cause heart palpitations and increase anxiety levels.

More benefits include protection against cirrhosis, reduced morality, it helps prevent premature death, it reduces risk of multiple sclerosis and protects your body against colorectal cancer.
